- 1 główkayoung cabbage
- 2 sztukicarrot (you can use 1 larger one)
- ½ sztukionion
- ½ łyżeczkisalt
- ½ łyżeczkipepper
- 2 łyżeczkihoney
- 1 łyżkaapple cider vinegar
- 1 łyżkalemon juice
- 4 łyżkimayonnaise (3-4 heaped tablespoons, to taste)
Instructions
- 1
Finely shred the young cabbage and transfer it to a large bowl.
- 2
Grate the carrot and finely dice the onion.
- 3
Add the carrot, onion, salt, pepper, honey, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, and mayonnaise to the cabbage.
- 4
Mix everything thoroughly until the ingredients combine well with the dressing.
- 5
Let the slaw sit for 5-15 minutes so the cabbage softens slightly and the flavors blend. If you don't want to wait, you can serve it right away.
Tip
This slaw tastes best after resting a few minutes, since young cabbage releases a bit of juice and blends better with the dressing.
Common mistake
Don't cut the onion too coarsely. In a young cabbage coleslaw, the onion should only enhance the flavor, not dominate the whole slaw.
Serving suggestion
Serve as a side for grilling, with sausage, pork neck, chicken, burgers, sandwiches, or a classic dinner.
